Tasks

Plans Pro

Pins and tasks are two separate things. The pin only watches an item (see Tracked pages and queries). A task is a to-do for your team about it.

Adding a task. Next to every pin there is a task button (a box with a tick): in the Queries and Pages tables, at the top of a query or page detail, on every Opportunities row and in the cannibalization card (page pairs and queries). Select it to Add task (status To do). Adding a task also pins the item, if it was not pinned yet. Once an item has a task, the button is filled; select it to open the Tasks tab. Pinning never creates a task.

What a task remembers. The item’s clicks, impressions, position and CTR when you added it: from the opportunity row on the Opportunities tab, otherwise for the date range you are looking at.

Unpinning only stops watching the item. Its tasks stay as they are.

Statuses. To do, Doing, Done and Not worth it. On the Opportunities lists, pinned rows and rows with a task move to the top, with a chip showing the task’s status.

Not worth it hides the row from that list (the item stays pinned), and it is not suggested again. If its impressions later change by 50% or more compared with when you added the task, it comes back with a Changed badge. Tick Show hidden under a list to see the hidden rows.

The Tasks tab lists the site’s tasks: open ones first (Doing, then To do), then Done, then Not worth it. Filter by status, type or assignee, change the status, assign a teammate and write a note. Click a task’s title to open the query or page.

Done. Marking a task Done adds a note to the chart (“Task done: …”). 28 days later the task shows the result: the clicks in the 28 days after it was done compared with the clicks when you added it, and how the average position moved.

Plans. Pro and Agency. Owners, admins and members can create and edit tasks; client viewers can see them. A site can have up to 500 open tasks.
